We’ve been fighting for trans people for years – the fight goes on

  • 2021 Win: Bell v Tavistock

After a court ruling made it nearly impossible for trans youth to access puberty blockers, we led a coalition to challenge the decision. The Court of Appeal agreed that doctors, not judges, should decide on medical care.

  • 2022 Health delays in the dock

With trans people facing years of delays for specialised healthcare, we challenged NHS England. The court dismissed the case, but we pushed the issue of failing services into the national spotlight.

  • 2024 Challenging the puberty blockers ban

When the government introduced an emergency ban on puberty blockers, we took them to the High Court. While the judge upheld the ban, they ruled that trans youth face significant barriers to care and ordered the NHS to improve access immediately.

  • 2025 Win: A landmark case on gender recognition

After a trans man was denied a gender recognition certificate because he was trying to conceive a child, we helped challenge the decision in court – and won.

  • 2026 Appealing the EHRC’s guidance

The High Court said that services can be trans inclusive, yet somehow decided that the EHRC’s interim guidance was lawful – so we’ve launched an appeal.
